1960s Made in Japan thinline cello-shaped electric bass with distinctive pancake body and headstock shape and a great thumping tone from the dual vintage pickups. Barclay was a ‘stencil’ or badged branding used for export from Japan in the 1960s and was primarily producing student-level instruments with the spelling ‘Barcley’ used for Canada and ‘Barclay’ used for USA and Australia. Details and documentation are scarce but possibly manufactured at Matsumoku gakki. Features bridge cover, finger rest, two volume and one tone control, bolt-on neck with dark fingerboard.Weight: 3.5kg.
